I got to know Richard more towards the tail end of our careers with the 165th. I really enjoyed talking to him with all that he was going thru he was always positive about life and kept his faith in God. He will be missed by all of us who were blessed to know him. To his family our thoughts and our prayers are with you and my God Bless.

- Frank M Maes, Richnond Hill, GA

Sandi, I was truly saddened to hear of Richards passing. What a wonderful experience it was to have been his friend. Richard’s wit and humor could always brighten your day, no matter how bad things were going for you. As a member of the 165th, Richard was the kind of individual you were proud to have served with. Mostly though, I will always be appreciative of the many lives he touched because of his dedication and time spent supporting Special Olympics throughout the community. How blessed we all are to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

- Ron Jetton, Rincon, GA

I have been his wife Sandi's assistant for almost five years. Over that time I have came to know and love Richard. He was always there when I needed help, and he will be greatly missed.

I, too was a co-worker with Richard at the 165th Ailift Wing. He was passionate about his work at the Wing. I will remember his intensity and dedication as well as his laughter and sly smile. It always made me wonder what he was up to next. We in the 165th Family have lost a friend, a co-worker and a brother-in-arms. From our Guard family to yours, may God be with you at your time of loss. We will all miss him.

Richard was truly a friend and a man of his word. When he stated something - you could count on it to be the truth. I worked with Richard for many years at the 165th AW - our desks were next to each other for years in the Logistics/Plans Mobility office. He had a profound impact on my life that I will never forget. God rest his soul and God Bless his family. I will truly miss Richard....
